Nutritional and immunological status plays a basic role in the postoperative prognosis and immunotherapeutic support are actually studied in order to improve results of oncologic surgery. The AA. have divided 256 in two groups: 100 patients, group A, undergone to perioperative immunoprophilaxis and 156, group B, to postoperative cyclic immunomodulation. A significant reduction of early and late postoperative infections, the improvements of the nutritional and immunologic status and a very good tollerancy, confirm again the positive role of immunomodulators in oncologic surgery.
