Because interactions between transcription factors and DNA elements present in eukaryotic promoters is a prerequisite for the regulation of constitutive and induced gene expression, considerable efforts have been devoted, over the past few years, to the elucidation of the DNA sequences of the promoters of the human HLA-DRA gene, which encodes the heavy chain subunit of the main subset of human class II antigens. Among the DNA regulatory elements so far identified within and demonstrated to play biological functions are; the X, the Y and, the Z(W)-boxes, the octamer moth, the ICS region, the TATA box. In view of the possible regulatory functions of upstream sequences of the HLA-DRA gene, we have determined the 5' nucleotide sequence of an EcoRI-EcoRI fragment of recombinant cosmid T9C, carrying a complete functional HLA-DRA gene. Here we report the localization of signal for transcription factors in the 5' upstream sequence of the HLA-DRA gene amplified by PCR using DNA from normal huma...

Abstract
Because interactions between transcription factors and DNA elements present in eukaryotic promoters is a prerequisite for the regulation of constitutive and induced gene expression, considerable efforts have been devoted, over the past few years, to the elucidation of the DNA sequences of the promoters of the human HLA-DRA gene, which encodes the heavy chain subunit of the main subset of human class II antigens. In view of the possible regulatory functions of upstream sequences of the HLA-DRA gene, we have determined the 5' nucleotide sequence of an EcoRI-EcoRI fragment of recombinant cosmid T9C, carrying a complete functional HLA-DRA gene. Here we report the localization of signal for transcription factors in the 5' upstream sequence of the HLA-DRA gene amplified by PCR using DNA from normal huma...I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
