Ecdysteroids variations and cuticulogenesis in absence or presence of 20-OH-ecdysone have been studied on in vitro cultures of body regions of Schistocerca gregaria embryos. The ecdysone increase, in the abdomens on the 7th day of culture, suggests that this is not mediated by neuroendocrine centres. The addition of 20-OH-ecdysone to the medium evokes in the abdominal epidermal cells an anticipation of cuticle synthesis and suggests a "trigger" role of this hormone during embryonic development

Abstract
Ecdysteroids variations and cuticulogenesis in absence or presence of 20-OH-ecdysone have been studied on in vitro cultures of body regions of Schistocerca gregaria embryos. The ecdysone increase, in the abdomens on the 7th day of culture, suggests that this is not mediated by neuroendocrine centres. The addition of 20-OH-ecdysone to the medium evokes in the abdominal epidermal cells an anticipation of cuticle synthesis and suggests a "trigger" role of this hormone during embryonic developmentFile in questo prodotto:
