The photochemical and photocatalytic properties of (nBu4N)3PW12O40, (nBu4N)4W10O32 and (Et4N)4W10O32 were investigated in the presence of several Fe(III)meso-tetrarylporphyrins. Laser flash photolysis experiments show that in some cases the photoreduced polyoxotungstate is able to transfer an electron to the iron(III) porphyrin, while in other cases is dioxygen itself the oxidizing agent. Continuous irradiation of the integrated systems in aerated conditions leads to the oxidastion of cyclohexane. The presence of the iron porphyrin complex affects products distribution.
