The CoIII title complex, [(C3H7)4N][trans-Co(NH3)2(NO2)4], has been synthesized and crystallized from an acetone-water mixture. The asymmetric unit contains two cations and two anions. The X-ray structure determination revealed the presence of discrete ions interacting through weak hydrogen bonds and van der Waals interactions, as well as Coulombic interactions.
