Prolonged aciclovir treatment of 6 patients with recurrent herpes infections was followed by a decrease of the frequency of recurrences. Treatment was continuous for one year and was well tolerated in 5 out of 6 patients. Strains of virus isolated during recurrences were indistinguishable from the initial virus and did not show any signs of resistance to the drug. However, recurrences reappeared a few month after the end of the treatment with the same periodicity. © 1990.

Abstract
Prolonged aciclovir treatment of 6 patients with recurrent herpes infections was followed by a decrease of the frequency of recurrences. Treatment was continuous for one year and was well tolerated in 5 out of 6 patients. Strains of virus isolated during recurrences were indistinguishable from the initial virus and did not show any signs of resistance to the drug. However, recurrences reappeared a few month after the end of the treatment with the same periodicity. © 1990.File in questo prodotto:
