This paper investigates the influence chromium content exerts on the corrosion resistance of low-alloyed chromium steels in HF solution at 45 °C and compares it with the corrosion resistance in other acids, such as HCl, HClO4, H2SO4. Weight-losses showed that chromium decreases the corrosion resistance of the low-alloyed chromium in perchloric, sulphuric and mainly in hydrofluoric acid solutions. Some classes of organic substances were tested as inhibitors of HF corrosion: the most efficient were those containing a sulphur atom with available lone pairs. These substances performed their action by inhibiting the anodic and the cathodic reactions.

Abstract
This paper investigates the influence chromium content exerts on the corrosion resistance of low-alloyed chromium steels in HF solution at 45 °C and compares it with the corrosion resistance in other acids, such as HCl, HClO4, H2SO4. Weight-losses showed that chromium decreases the corrosion resistance of the low-alloyed chromium in perchloric, sulphuric and mainly in hydrofluoric acid solutions. Some classes of organic substances were tested as inhibitors of HF corrosion: the most efficient were those containing a sulphur atom with available lone pairs. These substances performed their action by inhibiting the anodic and the cathodic reactions.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
