The authors describe a case of AIDS patient prophylaxed with aerosolized pentamidine to prevent PCP who developed dysuria and in whom P. carinii cysts and trophozoites were detected in urinary samples. The Authors hypothesize that pentamidine can favor the entering of P. carinii in systemic circulation and in bladder with clinical consequences.
