A newly developed selective NK2 receptor agonist was investigatd with regard to various physiological parameters in anaesthetised rats and guinea-pigs. The compund was as active, or more than NKA or NKA(4-10) in producing rat bladder contraction or bronchospasm in guinea-pigs (NK2 effects). Otherwise, it was almost inactive in producing hypotension of plasma extravasation in rat bladder, as well as salivation in guinea-pigs (NK1 effects). Therefore this new agonist can be used to explore the distribution and function of NK-2 receptors.
