The archaeological site of Mont’e Prama, in Cabras, Sardinia, is a necropolis with cylindrical tombs excavated in the ground along a linear path, covered with sandstone and limestone slabs. These sculptures represent archers, warriors and boxers. They are tall (2–2.5 m), with prominent frontal bosses and cheekbone, mandibular prognathism and pronounced nose. The bodies are massive with sturdy limbs and particularly developed muscles. Such morphological features, although stylized, suggest that the statues may be inspired by individuals suffering from acromegaly and gigantism.

Abstract
The archaeological site of Mont’e Prama, in Cabras, Sardinia, is a necropolis with cylindrical tombs excavated in the ground along a linear path, covered with sandstone and limestone slabs. These sculptures represent archers, warriors and boxers. They are tall (2–2.5 m), with prominent frontal bosses and cheekbone, mandibular prognathism and pronounced nose. The bodies are massive with sturdy limbs and particularly developed muscles. Such morphological features, although stylized, suggest that the statues may be inspired by individuals suffering from acromegaly and gigantism.File in questo prodotto:
