The recent paper “Indicators and methods for assessing acoustical preferences and needs of students in educational buildings: a review” [Applied Acoustics 202 (2023) 109187] by A. Hamida et al. omitted the class of behavioral quantities in the analysis of indicators, while they are at the core of many experimental paradigms and have been crucial to achieve the knowledge we have so far on the subject. In the present work a not-exhaustive example is given related to response time to substantiate the statement. Then also the misinterpretation of findings between adults and the student population and the inconsistency of some of the works reviewed in the area of soundscape with the review goals are discussed.
