After some general considerations on the attribute of vulnerability from a procedural perspective, the article examines the rules of procedure reserved for a specific group of vulnerable defendants, namely foreign defendants. The analysis is developed in the light of the most recent legislative innovations and finally leads to some conclusive remarks about a worrying estrangement of the ideology of procedural rules from their founding values.
