Abstract: This paper provides an analysis of the wrecking of Gaza’s healthcare system during Operation “Swords of Iron”. It begins with an examination of the international rules protecting medical facilities and personnel in times of armed conflict. It then scrutinizes Israel’s specific obligations as an occupying power. The author discusses evidence suggesting systematic and targeted attacks on Gaza’s healthcare system, which could indicate a genocidal intent against the local population. These serious allegations need to be independently investigated, so as to ascertain international responsibility and ensure full accountability.
