Abstract – The article is focused on linguistic aspects related to gender violence. The aim is to analyze common linguistic mechanisms that make clear how important it is to understand how we use language in our daily life and how central language is to fight patriarchal and misogynist values and practices. The article is divides into sections: 1) an analysis of gender differences in everyday language; 2) an analysis of linguistic prejudices and stereotypes 3) verbal violence and hate speech related to gender differences; 4) an analysis of English terms used to identify gender violence related issues; 5) conclusive remarks about the importance to educate to gender differences through linguistic choices.
