The recent discovery of a little anthology of poems from the Sicilian School, transcribed in Bergamo on three reused leaves of parchment around the 1250/60s, raises once again the issue of the early diffusion of these poems in northern Italy. On the recto side, the three sheets contain a list of fines issued by the authorities of the commune of Bergamo against some noble citizens participating in a tournament; on the verso side, the same hand wrote, in a cursive script, the fragments of four poems belonging to the Sicilian School: Oi lasso! non pensai by Ruggerone da Palermo; Contra lo meo volere by Paganino da Serzana; Donna, eo languisco e no so qua·speranza by Giacomo da Lentini; Amore m'àve priso by Percivalle Doria. The texts, unique documents for their antiquity and historical, textual and linguistic relevance, are published in a diplomatic and interpretative edition.
