This essay contains an unpublished Italian translation of a poem titled « Petite description de l'Aurore», taken from the Cantiques du premier advenement de Jesu-Christ by Nicolas Denisot (1515-1559), poet and painter belonging to the literary milieu of the Pléiade. The translation is followed by an analysis of the translating method and of the main difficulties encountered in the process of replicating the contents of the French text in Italian verse.
