An integration of digital and physical features related to urban mobility and based on a functional and ethical design plays a key role in promoting an open, creative, and sustainable relationship between infrastructure and citizens. Through the analysis of applied research and relevant case studies, the present paper investigates the possible consequences of the use of smart traffic signals on the urban quality of small- sized cities. More specifically, this paper examines the urban applications of applied researches on smart traffic signals systems – BiCi a CB and Smart Community and Mobility – illustrating, in addition to their ethical value and functionality, their potential applications in significant urban settings.

Abstract
An integration of digital and physical features related to urban mobility and based on a functional and ethical design plays a key role in promoting an open, creative, and sustainable relationship between infrastructure and citizens. Through the analysis of applied research and relevant case studies, the present paper investigates the possible consequences of the use of smart traffic signals on the urban quality of small- sized cities. More specifically, this paper examines the urban applications of applied researches on smart traffic signals systems – BiCi a CB and Smart Community and Mobility – illustrating, in addition to their ethical value and functionality, their potential applications in significant urban settings.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
