This article describes a training project for newly hired prison-based educators, during which, among different strategies used to foster reflection and sharing of experiences, the facilitators focused on the use of critical incidents. The main goal of the meetings was the development of critical and reflective thinking, and the ability to transform framework references and meaning perspectives. Reflection allows one to realize a circularity between theory and practice that is essential to face the unpredictability and uniqueness of situations in the workplace, refusing automatic, non-thoughtful action.

L’articolo descrive un intervento di formazione iniziale rivolto a funzionari giuridico-pedagogici neoassunti, nell’ambito del quale, tra le varie tecniche utilizzate per stimolare la riflessione e la condivisione delle esperienze, ci si è focalizzati su quella degli episodi critici. La finalità principale degli incontri era quella di sviluppare un sapere critico e un atteggiamento riflessivo, trasformando cornici di riferimento e prospettive. La pratica riflessiva permette di realizzare la circolarità tra teoria e pratica, ed è indispensabile per affrontare l’imprevedibilità e l’unicità delle situazioni lavorative, rifiutando un agire automatico e cristallizzato.
