La riforma incompresa: l’Accordo 6 novembre 2018 nei rapporti tra Repubblica Ellenica e Chiesa Ortodossa

On November 6, 2018 the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and the Archbishop of Athens Ieronymos, have made public an agreement to reform relations between the Hellenic Republic and the Orthodox Church, destined to be translated into State Law. The strong opposition of the clergy and the ecclesiastical hierarchy and the narrow, one-party parliamentary majority in favor of the reform, prevented it from being implemented, in the sign of a growing tension in the relations between the Government and the Church of Greece.

Il 6 novembre 2018, il Primo Ministro greco Alexis Tsipras e l’Arcivescovo di Atene Ieronymos, hanno reso pubblico un Accordo di riforma dei rapporti tra Repubblica Ellenica e Chiesa Ortodossa, destinato ad essere tradotto in Legge dello Stato. La fortissima opposizione del clero e della gerarchia ecclesiastica e la risicata maggioranza parlamentare monopartitica favorevole alla riforma ne hanno impedito l’attuazione, nel segno di una crescente tensione nei rapporti tra Governo e Chiesa di Grecia.
