Background: the objective of this study was to assess dermoscopic features of plasma cell vulvitis (PCV), which have never been described to date. Methods: we conducted a prospective observational, morphologic study in 8 patients affected with histologically proven PCV who attended our Vulva Unit during 2017. Dermoscopic variables selected and analysed in the present study derived from the available literature and personal expertise. Results: both focal or diffuse bright red-orange-yellowish structure-less areas and a rich, pleomorphic vascularization were observed in all the study patients. Conclusions: as specific dermoscopic patterns are constant, characteristic features of PCV, as well as of its male counterpart, dermoscopy could be included as a non-invasive support for the diagnosis of this disorder.
