Un recupero sostenibile: da cava ad albergo ipogeo

The project by cusenza+salvo for the environmental recovery of an abandoned quarry on the island of Favignana, changed into an hypogeum hotel, is based on the low environmental impact and on the reuse of material available on site, respecting the local constructive tradition and reinterpreting the existing through the poetics of “unfinished”. Il progetto dello studio cusenza+salvo per il recupero ambientale di una cava dismessa nell’isola di Favignana, trasformata in albergo ipogeo si basa sul basso impatto ambientale e sul riutilizzo del materiale disponibile in loco, rispettando la tradizione costruttiva locale e reinterpretando l’esistente attraverso la poetica del “non finito”. I monoliti calcarei preesistenti dettano le regole di articolazione volumetrica dell’intero complesso, altamente sostenibile grazie alle scelte tecnologiche adottate
