The burial history of the tectonic units forming a collisional belt is the result of pre-orogenic sedimentary loading plus a more or less complex record of tectonic loading and exhumation. In this context reconstructing the thermal path of each tectonic unit is a crucial step in the assessment ofimportant variables as rate of deformation and amount of shortening. This approach has been recently applied to the Southern Apennines (ALDEGA et al., 2003; CORRADO et al., 2005). However most of the data produced so far concern the Lagonegro Units and the Apulian Platform Unit. Only a few data have been published for the Southern Apenninic Platform Unit (SAP) and all of them come from the Miocene siliciclastic deposits unconformably overlying the Meso- Cenozoic shallow water carbonates. In this study we present some new data on the thermal maturity of the organic matter contained in the Cretaceous part of the SAP succession, based on Tmax values from Rock-Eval Pyrolysis.

Abstract
In this study we present some new data on the thermal maturity of the organic matter contained in the Cretaceous part of the SAP succession, based on Tmax values from Rock-Eval Pyrolysis.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
