Disegnare la città storica. Riqualificazione degli spazi urbani di Banyoles, Girona

The redevelopment of urban spaces in Banyoles aims to expose the substrate of the historic city, bringing to light the archaeological remains and revealing the traces of history while allowing a fluid and organic use of the public space. The flooring, carved and eroded to form canals and basins in which the water flows, is treated as the stone is a liquid, vibrating like a waterfall in slope areas and calm and natural in flat ones. Some traces, like in a museum stopped in time, remain left from the drift. Through the use of travertine, the project blends in completely in the context by drawing a third front of the city: the street.

L’intervento di riqualificazione degli spazi urbani di Banyoles mira ad esporre il substrato storico della città, riportando alla luce i resti archeologici e rendendo leggibili i segni della storia pur consentendo l’uso fluido e organico dello spazio pubblico. La pavimentazione diventa un liquido vibrante mentre le tracce storiche emergono come in un museo fermato nel tempo
