The authors carried out a survey on multiple sclerosis patients living in the province of Ferrara, concerning an evaluation on the disability, of the rate of autonomy in the activities of dalily living, and the changes in environmental situation after the onset of the disease. The implications of the results concerning the social relevance of MS and the planning of rehabilitative programs are discussed.
