A statistical comparison between left and right humerus and ulna in the cases of the presence or absence of olecranal perforation was made on the basis of metric characters. The investigation among different groups was at first performed through mean values of every single trait, then through multivariate analysis. Unlike the first statistical comparison, the second one has pointed out significant structural differences among the examined groups. It is suggested that olecranal perforation would be determined by a genetic factor with different levels of expressiveness and with pleiotropic effect on metric traits of the humerus and ulna. © 1978 Academic Press Inc. Abstract
