The authors state that, in contradistinction to the experience of other research workers, they find that on giving Althesin to rabbits by the portal route, there is always a certain central effect of the drug (evidently due to its escape from the purificatory control of the liver) that is obtained with a critical value of portal perfusion of 3.5 mg per m. The central effects so demonstrated appear late and persists for a long time. In a model of experimental epilepsy from a cortical lesion produced accidentally, Althesin has further manifested a transitory and short-lasting capacity for the acute control of the electrocortical and clinical aspects of the abnormal condition.

Abstract
The authors state that, in contradistinction to the experience of other research workers, they find that on giving Althesin to rabbits by the portal route, there is always a certain central effect of the drug (evidently due to its escape from the purificatory control of the liver) that is obtained with a critical value of portal perfusion of 3.5 mg per m. The central effects so demonstrated appear late and persists for a long time. In a model of experimental epilepsy from a cortical lesion produced accidentally, Althesin has further manifested a transitory and short-lasting capacity for the acute control of the electrocortical and clinical aspects of the abnormal condition.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
