A system assembling the target cell of the HERMES experiment on the beam line of the Hera storage ring has been designed. The experiment take place in Hamburg (D) at DESY laboratory and its aim is to measure the spin distribution of the quarks in proton and neutron. The system includes: - a mechanism opening the downstream spring fingers of the wake field suppressor, allowing the enforced elliptical end of the target cell to slide inside them; - a tooling aligning and positioning the target cell to and along the beam line for both the opening and mounting operations. This paper gives a brief description of the system

Abstract
A system assembling the target cell of the HERMES experiment on the beam line of the Hera storage ring has been designed. The experiment take place in Hamburg (D) at DESY laboratory and its aim is to measure the spin distribution of the quarks in proton and neutron. The system includes: - a mechanism opening the downstream spring fingers of the wake field suppressor, allowing the enforced elliptical end of the target cell to slide inside them; - a tooling aligning and positioning the target cell to and along the beam line for both the opening and mounting operations. This paper gives a brief description of the systemFile in questo prodotto:
