Ophlolitic exposures from the East and Northeast of Nehbandan, Eastern Iran, are remnnants of a Cretaceous oceanic basin between Lut and Afghan continental blocks.They contain harzburgites, clinopyroxene-harzburgites and lherzolites equilibrated in spinel-peridotite facies. Geodynamically, the mantle tectonites record both mid-ocean ridge and supra-subduction zone signature.
