Hydrogen permeation of a C-steel in 5% NaCl + 0.5% CH3COOH solutions in presence of various concentrations of thiosulphate has been studied. The susceptibility of the steel to SCC in the same solutions has been determined by slow strain rate tests (SSRT). The influence exerted by different types of organic inhibitors on H permeation and SCC susceptibility has been investigated. Moreover, anodic and cathodic polarisation curves have been recorded to explain the action of thiosulphate and inhibitors.

Abstract
Hydrogen permeation of a C-steel in 5% NaCl + 0.5% CH3COOH solutions in presence of various concentrations of thiosulphate has been studied. The susceptibility of the steel to SCC in the same solutions has been determined by slow strain rate tests (SSRT). The influence exerted by different types of organic inhibitors on H permeation and SCC susceptibility has been investigated. Moreover, anodic and cathodic polarisation curves have been recorded to explain the action of thiosulphate and inhibitors.File in questo prodotto:
