It is well known that, in geared system dynamics, time-varying bear-ing forces are transmitted to the gearbox housing, which may lead to undesired noise radiation when the gearbox operates within the overall system assembly. In this work, an analytical procedure aimed at reducing gear whine through mesh phasing is applied to numerical case studies. A lumped-parameter model is devel-oped, enabling a parametric investigation to assess the effect of gear positioning on the reduction of bearing forces. The analysis focuses on identifying the gear configurations that minimize the transmitted forces. Two layouts are considered: a three-gear configuration and a four-gear configuration.

Abstract
It is well known that, in geared system dynamics, time-varying bear-ing forces are transmitted to the gearbox housing, which may lead to undesired noise radiation when the gearbox operates within the overall system assembly. In this work, an analytical procedure aimed at reducing gear whine through mesh phasing is applied to numerical case studies. A lumped-parameter model is devel-oped, enabling a parametric investigation to assess the effect of gear positioning on the reduction of bearing forces. The analysis focuses on identifying the gear configurations that minimize the transmitted forces. Two layouts are considered: a three-gear configuration and a four-gear configuration.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
