The article has no ambition to explore the immense world of teaching interdisciplinarity, although the latter is still far from being sufficiently considered in the countries involved in the Human Origins Heritage participatory training school. Within the framework of the 2025 HOH edition, deliberately oriented towards scientific mediation, the aim is to highlight the common pedagogical purposes and processes that ground the academic aspect of the school, and to analyze how a multicultural and multidisciplinary group of students can develop an interdisciplinary approach to heritage and involve members of communities living on a World Heritage site (as well as other stakeholders). By doing so, we explore to what extent they can integrate a part of transdisciplinarity into their project and, together with local stakeholders, deliver an outcome impacting heritage conservation, dissemination, and development.
