This study, conducted at Manastiri i Ravenës in Goranxi village, Dropull Municipality, Gjirokastër County in Southern Albania, aims to gather comprehensive data on structural damage and weathering causes. It is a first-stage investigation implemented by the author as lecturer and researcher of the post-degree executive master program of Restoration, Conservation and Valorization of Cultural Heritage in the Polis University of Tirana by computing damage indices, and insights are gained for prioritizing conservation procedures. Drystone walling, a traditional practice in South Albania, utilizes local materials and skilled craftsmanship, requiring minimal new materials for repairs. However, diverse construction styles pose challenges in assessment due to regional variations influenced by factors like frictional properties and weathering characteristics. The study delves into construction types in the Gjirokastra area, emphasizing the influence of location and purpose on style. The methodology addresses system behaviors in stone weathering assessment, drawing parallels with medical diagnosis frameworks for structured assessment and prognosis, fostering uniformity and predictability in conservation efforts.

The methodology addresses system behaviors in stone weathering assessment, drawing parallels with medical diagnosis frameworks for structured assessment and prognosis, fostering uniformity and predictability in conservation efforts.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
