Between 1956 and 1959 Luigi Vietti studied Portofino’s Master Plan. On the one hand, the instrument must adapt the town to the requests of a national and international tourism, on the other hand, it had to guarantee the preservation of the territory. To balance the two goals Vietti must deal, among others, with the municipality, the Superintendency, and the Ente Autonomo del Monte di Portofino responsible for the protection of the natural park extending over the Portofino promontory.
