The paper illustrates technical investigations performed on the wood structures of the late fifteenth century building in Ferrara, situated along via Borgo di Sotto. An example of a timber stage that survived through the centuries with additions that not altered its original configuration is discussed in this case study. It represents a compendium of the highest magisterium of carpentry masters for a traditional construction technique used in the Ferrara Renaissance.
