Vulnerability studies have introduced new elements to the “traditional” way of considering vulnerability in the process, which can be related to the “victim paradigm.” In reflecting on the relations between process and vulnerability, I will first reconstruct the coordinates of the ways through which vulnerability is recognized in the process so far. Subsequently, I will focus on two of the new frontiers of access to justice that have emerged precisely through the critical analysis carried out within the vulnerability turn: testimonial injustice and imputability. In doing so I want to show that, however carefully it is to be “handled,” within the process vulnerability plays a relevant role. Indeed, it opens relevant issues that, to be properly understood, require further discussion.
