The paper discusses the seismic response of prefabricated reinforced concrete (RC) large panels (LPE) in different cities in Albania. Those buildings were built in 1970 and were spread out all over the country: Tiranë, Durrës, Shkodër, Vlorë, etc. The main purpose of these buildings was for residential function, and it came as a result of the demand in those years for residential buildings and the facilities that this type of construction offered in production and assembly. A characteristic of these buildings is that the same project with some specific characteristics (magnitude, type of soil, construction system) was built in different cities without taking into account the characteristics of the soil where it was built. Throughout their life cycle, these buildings have faced several strong earthquakes, since Albania is categorized as a seismic region. Two of the strongest earthquakes experienced by these buildings are 40 years apart. One of them happened on April 15, 1979 (M 7.2) in Shkodra city, and the other happened on November 26, 2019 (M 6.4) in Durrës city. The paper outlines the key structural and seismic response of LPE buildings in Albania located in two different cities, such as Tirana and Durrës, and discusses the seismic response of these buildings in the November 2019 and April 1979 Albania earthquakes. The purpose of this study is to compare the seismic behavior of a building with large prefabricated panels located in different cities in Albania to see how the seismic response of this object is influenced by the type of soil on which this building will be supported. The effect of the soil-structure interaction (SSI) and local soil conditions on the seismic behavior of LPE buildings has been examined. The overall impact of different soil conditions on the seismic forces and displacements in LPE buildings has been examined for two different locations.

Abstract
The overall impact of different soil conditions on the seismic forces and displacements in LPE buildings has been examined for two different locations.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
