This volume collects the contributions presented at the international conference held in Ferrara on October 6-7, 2022, which arose precisely from the idea of reflecting on the need for a new commentary on the 1532 Furioso and the characteristics that this new annotated edition should have. After two interventions of a methodological nature (Delcorno Branca and Gritti), the proceedings retrace according to a more purely chronological axis some aspects of the literary memory of the Furioso (Stanga for Virgil, Morato for the Romance tradition, Tonello and Greggio-Romanini for Dante, Della Corte for the Mambrian, Guassardo for the lyric, and Depoli for the novelistic of the fifteenth century). The last three contributions (Rizzarelli, Caneparo-Cherchi and Diolaiti) focus on the reception dimension of the poem from the sixteenth century to the twentieth century. As an appendix to the volume is Casagrande's paper describing a Garfagnana account book from the period of Ariosto's governorship.
Il volume raccoglie i contributi presentati in occasione del convegno internazionale che si è tenuto a Ferrara il 6-7 ottobre 2022, nato proprio dall’idea di riflettere sulla necessità di un nuovo commento al Furioso del 1532 e sulle caratteristiche che questa nuova edizione commentata dovrebbe avere. Dopo due interventi di carattere metodologico (Delcorno Branca e Gritti), il fascicolo ripercorre secondo un asse più prettamente cronologico alcuni aspetti della memoria letteraria del Furioso (Stanga per Virgilio, Morato per la tradizione romanza, Tonello e Greggio-Romanini per Dante, Della Corte per il Mambriano, Guassardo per la lirica e Depoli per la novellistica del Quattrocento). Gli ultimi tre contributi (Rizzarelli, Caneparo-Cherchi, e Diolaiti) si focalizzano sulla dimensione della ricezione del poema dal Cinquecento fino al Novecento. In appendice al volume l’intervento di Casagrande che dà notizia di un libro di conti della Garfagnana del periodo di governatorato ariostesco.
