The health status of migrants is the results of a complex interaction between the influece of the epidemiological, social and cultural context of the place of origin, the conditions of the migratory process and the journey itself, and the settelment and living conditions in the host country, including access to health care services. The chapter provides an overview of Italy’s National Institute for Health Migration and Poverty (NHPM) ezperience in delivering healtcare to migrant populations on arrival, durign the settling-in process and thereafter.
