Edition with modernised orthography (following the criteria adopted by the “Théâtre français de la Renaissance” collection), with an introduction and footnotes, of the tragedy “Agamemnon” by Roland Brisset, which was the third French translation or imitation of Seneca’s “Agamemnon” published in France during the Renaissance. The introduction analyses the portrayal of the characters of the play and the translation strategies that were carried out by Brisset. His tragedy is compared to both the Latin source text and the previous French versions by Toutain and Le Duchat.
