The thesis is set in the wider context of the 2016 centrai Italy earthquake and tries to contribute to the delicate issue of the reconstruction after such tragic events. The methodical analysis of the urban fabric of the town Vallinfante, taken as a case study, was crucial to understand the logics of the town's development throughout history. The generative rules of its urban layout were then used to develop a rnasterplan of the whole town which can act as a red thread for the single projects during the reconstruction process.
