The project developed by the FE-FI group aims to formulate a proposal for the urban regeneration of the ERP district of Tor Bella Monaca in Rome through the redevelopment of the built environment and the rethinking of open spaces and services of public utilities. The preliminary design considerations started from the need to implement strategies aimed at promoting social inclusion and reducing the housing emergency, as well as improving the quality of living. The measures proposed concern the enhancement of the public space between the courts; the traffic relief within the area of intervention; the selective demolition of part of the buildings, in addition to a rede- sign of what remains in place, and the construction of new buildings in which insert neighborhood and community services, to revitalize the area and guarantee its spontaneous presence during the whole day. Parallel to the urban strategy, we focused on the development of a “catalog” of solutions for the technological requalification and energy efficiency of buildings, such as to guarantee the replicability of the approach developed and its scarce invasiveness, to allow timely intervention where necessary without having to displace a sub- stantial part of the current inhabitants. Both strategies aim at the regeneration of the urban space in the face of limited use of economic and materials resources, favoring an appropriate and conscious use of them and proposing innovative methods of energy management and production.

Abstract
Both strategies aim at the regeneration of the urban space in the face of limited use of economic and materials resources, favoring an appropriate and conscious use of them and proposing innovative methods of energy management and production.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
