In the field of fashion, it can be said that fashion and architecture have a strong bond in expressing ideas of personal, social and cultural identity. A symbiotic relationship itself, where throughout history clothing and buildings have reflected each other not only in appearance, but also in form, where their most important function is to provide shelter (in architecture) and protection of the body (fashion). In both cases they create and play out with space and volume. While both fashion and architecture have so much in common, they are also different in human scale, proportions, sizes and shapes. As advances in materials technology and computer software have pushed fashion designers to more innovative ways of producing materials, architects have been focusing in creating buildings which have become more fluid while garments more architectonic. Nowadays, architects are adopting strategies that are usually used in dressmaking, such as: printing, pleating, folding, draping and weaving. On the other hand, fashion designers are finding inspiration from architecture as a new way to create and build garments that proclaim new challenging ideas about volume and structure. The aim of this paper is to explore the connection of architecture and fashion as two disciplines, which can create new ways of enhancing creativity not only on the build environment but also in the world of fashion. Further on, this paper will explore some of the concept of: Shelter, Geometry, Constructing Volume, Draping, Folding, and Waving, both in the fashion world and architecture one. Thus producing examples of how fashion and architecture can generate form each other, stating also the result of the workshop “Tirana Dress me Up” inspired by actual Albanian architecture.

Abstract
Thus producing examples of how fashion and architecture can generate form each other, stating also the result of the workshop “Tirana Dress me Up” inspired by actual Albanian architecture.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
