The article underlines the aims and goals of the project Municipalities Subsidiarity for Action on Energy, MuSAE, part of the program LIFE+ 2011 (Nature and Biodiversity, Policy and Governance, Information and Communication ), co-funded by European Union, Municipality of Perugia (Project leader), Umbertide, Marsciano, Lisciano Niccone, University of Perugia and Region of Umbria. The on-going project is part of 202 selected projects of the European Union. MuSAE improve coordinated action of energetic and environmental planning to increase energy effi ciency and use of renewable energy. In this sense, an opening of an energy info-desk in each of the municipalities involved is expected, as well as the achievement of pilot projects consistent with the Strategy “Europe 20-20-20” of the European Union and the transfer of skills and know-how among functionaries of public administration working in the energy field.
