Rossetti allestitore? Alcune ipotesi sul ruolo dell'ingegnere ducale negli allestimenti teatrali

Biagio Rossetti years of activity were a period of cultural innovation and great experimentation in Ferrara theatre. The city theatrical culture has often been investigated in relation with its dynamics of commissioning and courtly enjoyment and with its communicative and symbolic issues. However, the roots of material culture that shaped its figurations, the coordination of skills leading to its development and the possible loans of techniques and knowledge from the city festive and celebrative culture have never been investigated so far. Through the study of archive records published in the last twenty years suggesting that Rossetti played an operative role, this paper aims to outline some theories on the possible supervision that the famous architect, among his duties as ducal engineer, had over theatrical productions of the time.
