Sovrascritture urbane. Strategia e strumenti per il ri-condizionamento delle città

Where are we today as men and architects? Have we come out of the era of the star system, in which every architecture was the product of a single formal vision? Or have we been seduced again by the past and the "fundamentals" that Koolhaas recently wrote about? Are we wandering as if kidnapped by the chaos of the generic city and technologies or are we wandering passionately interrogated by a newfound interest in the common good? There are many questions, some reflections and some answers that the book intends to suggest, retracing the relationship between philosophical and architectural thought that has always accompanied the international debate and is declined with very peculiar traits in the history of Italian architecture. Starting from a brief rereading of the relationships that Italian architecture has established between theory, history, its interpretation, and design, in the period from the Modern Movement to the New Realism of today and the relationship with the main international events outlined in the main architecture exhibitions held at the MoMA in New York from the period between the two wars to today, the book proposes an architectural thought that, while respecting the historicity and typicality of Italian architecture, explores possible contaminations and introduces the variable of sustainable contemporaneity: the Community/Community. Community(y) as places of urban connection, social instances and regeneration that guide the architect in overwriting those urban waste, new elements of a circular system of re-attribution and value sharing. A system of hybrid, circular architectural design in which re-conditioning is the strategy, capable of requalifying not only containers and abandoned spaces of the city, but links, relationships with applicative, evolutionary and adaptive tools proper to the discipline. Dove siamo oggi come uomini e architetti? Siamo usciti dall’epoca dello star system, in cui ogni architettura era il prodotto di una singola visione formale? O siamo stati nuovamente sedotti dal passato e dai “fundamentals” di cui Koolhaas ha recentemente scritto? Vaghiamo come rapiti dal caos della città generica e delle tecnologie o ci interroghiamo appassionati da un ritrovato interesse per il bene comune? Molti interrogativi, alcune riflessioni e qualche risposta che il libro intende suggerire, ripercorrendo la relazione tra il pensiero filosofico e quello architettonico che da sempre accompagna il dibattito internazionale e si declina con tratti del tutto peculiari nella storia dell’architettura italiana. Partendo da una breve rilettura delle relazioni che l’architettura italiana ha instaurato tra teoria, storia, sua interpretazione, e progetto, nel periodo che va dal Movimento Moderno al Nuovo Realismo dell’oggi e del rapporto con i principali accadimenti internazionali schematizzati nelle principali mostre di architettura che si sono tenute al MoMA di New York dal periodo tra le due guerre ad oggi, il libro propone un pensiero architettonico che, nel rispetto della storicità e tipicità architettonica italiana, esplora possibili contaminazioni e introduce la variabile della contemporaneità sostenibile: la Comunità/Community. Comunità(y) come luoghi di connessione urbana, di istanze sociali e di rigenerazione che guida l’architetto nella sovrascrittura di quegli scarti urbani, nuovi elementi di un sistema circolare di ri-attribuzione e condivisione valoriale. Un sistema di progetto d’architettura ibrido, circolare in cui il ri-condizionamento è la strategia, capace di riqualificare non solo contenitori e spazi abbandonati della città, ma legami, relazioni con strumenti applicativi, evolutivi e adattivi propri della disciplina. Un arcipelago urbano di minimi interventi, contaminazioni contemperate in cui le differenze e le interferenze divengono carica positiva.
