In this essay the Author evaluates critically the implementation of Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights (Consumer Rights Directive, CRD) in the Italian private Law system: by analysing how the new provisions have been integrated in the italian consumer code and how they have been coordinated with the already existing rules on sales contracts and consumer contracts, layed down by the civil code and by the consumer code; by evaluating the impact of the introduction of new rules on the general principles of italian Law in the field of sales contracts.
