The work is part of the extensive debate on learning with new technologies in the wake of the research activity launched at the end of the 1990s by the Centre of communication technologies, innovation and distance learning of the University of Ferrara. The specific sector is the development of knowledge through the use of technology in two degree courses offered by the University’s Department of Humanities, according to a model defined as Distance learning. On one hand, the cognitive artifacts and technological tools have been observed and, on the other, the teaching methods used. The work included an ongoing comparison between the results of the various stages of research and the international debate on the subject.
