The rheological behaviour of natural material collected in the suorce area of three debris flow occorring in Campania region (Southern Italy) has been investigated. The tests have been carried out at different solid volumetric concentrations with a standard rheometer equipped with two geometric configurations in order to avoid disturbing effects. All materials behave like a Non-Newtonian fluid with a thereshold shear stress that increases with solid fraction. The experimental data have been fitted with standard model generally used for fluids. A simple relation between solid fraction and yield stress has been obtained.

Abstract
The rheological behaviour of natural material collected in the suorce area of three debris flow occorring in Campania region (Southern Italy) has been investigated. The tests have been carried out at different solid volumetric concentrations with a standard rheometer equipped with two geometric configurations in order to avoid disturbing effects. All materials behave like a Non-Newtonian fluid with a thereshold shear stress that increases with solid fraction. The experimental data have been fitted with standard model generally used for fluids. A simple relation between solid fraction and yield stress has been obtained.File in questo prodotto:
