Abstract

On the basis of a recent experience of the authors this contribution intends to present a Fast Multipole Boundary Element Method (FMBEM) for the sensitivity analysis of the two-dimensional scalar wave propagation. The multipole approach is of adaptive type and the code is written in the Fortran 90 context. An iterative Generalized Minimal Residual Solver (GMRES) is adopted to improve the overall computational efficiency. The final procedure results to be particularly attractive in optimization and identification large-scale problems.
