This chapter presents an overview of the policies and strategies aimed at improving the quality of Suburbia in countries participating to the Action in the following fields: energy efficiency, functional and structural aspect, surrounding area, public transport and services, building skin and material, inhabitant safety and security. It should be noted that an overview of all European countries would probably differ from the analysis carried out within this project. However, we believe that this summary provides an aggregated view of various aspects of the above-mentioned topics that results to be an added value of this report for the readers, regardless of the country of their origin. Further, three case studies are included in this chapter that present in detail the selected neighbourhoods in Finland, Italy and Romania in the view of the pre-determined indicators. The detailed case studies provide wealthy information on the condition of the separate buildings and associated neighbourhoods that responded to the growing need of affordable housing after 1945.

Abstract
The detailed case studies provide wealthy information on the condition of the separate buildings and associated neighbourhoods that responded to the growing need of affordable housing after 1945.I documenti in SFERA sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
